About the Founder
Katie Wedding is a Certified Grief Educator with a background in school counseling and teaching. She is the founder of Wicki's Wings: Support for Grieving Families.
Wicki's Wings grew from a personal need.
When her mother, Vicki (aka "Wicki') was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the age of 58, Katie was faced with supporting her own young children while tending to her own grief.
Katie was able to draw upon her experience leading grief support groups in the school setting to choose books, journals and art activities to help Wicki's family process the loss.
The mission quickly expanded to include a shop that provided therapeutic sympathy gifts.
In 2021, Katie trained under world-renowned grief expert David Kessler to become a Certified Grief Educator.
Katie teaches classes on grief and support in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.
